The Rotary Club of Aashray Warangal is a vibrant community of dedicated professionals and changemakers committed to the Rotary International motto, “Service Above Self.” Our club was founded with the vision of becoming a pillar of support—an Aashray—for the marginalized and underserved sections of society in and around Warangal.
From our very first day as a charter club, we have focused on high-impact projects that address education, livelihood, and community infrastructure. We believe that true service isn’t just about financial contribution; it’s about being “on the ground” and leading with empathy.
Our Pillars of Service
We channel our efforts into four key areas to ensure a holistic impact on our community:
1. Empowering Education & Youth
We believe that every child deserves the tools to succeed. Our initiatives range from academic support to spiritual and cultural enrichment:
Mobility for Education:
Distributed 80 bicycles to government school students (including Upparapelli Government School) to ensure that distance is never a barrier to learning.
Essential Supplies:
Provided 50 school bags to students at Gutta Badi, Shyampet, and distributed SSC study materials to students at Thidugu Government High School to help them excel in their board exams.
Cultural Enrichment:
Our very first project as a charter club involved taking 125 school children, ISKCON staff, and priests to the Mahavatar Narasimha 3D movie, blending technology with divine inspiration.
2. Sustainable Livelihoods
We empower individuals to become self-reliant. By providing the means to earn a living, we help families break the cycle of poverty:
- Skill Development: Distributed 52 sewing machines to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Life-Changing Support: Through the Chetana Foundation, we sponsored a flour mill for Kotha Dhanamma, an accident victim from Bayyaram, ensuring a sustainable income for her family despite her physical challenges.
3. Community Infrastructure & “Dignity of Labour”
Our members don’t just donate; we participate. A testament to this is the construction of the Saraswathi Shishumandir School compound wall.Supported by CSR funds from Vanga Prabhakar Reddy Garu and our club’s contributions, our members dedicated their own man-hours to personally paint the wall, upholding the Rotary value of the dignity of labor.
4. Collaborative Impact
We believe in the power of partnership. Many of our flagship projects have been made possible through the generous support of:
- CSR Partners: Bhadrakali Movie Makers and Vanga Prabhakar Reddy Garu.
- Rotary Network: Rotary Club of Lake District Moinabad.
- Leadership: Guidance from District Governors Rtn Ramprasad Garu and Rtn Dr. SV Raam.
Our Philosophy
At RC Aashray Warangal, we measure our success by the smiles on the faces of the children we support and the newfound independence of the individuals we empower. Whether it is providing a bicycle to a student or a livelihood tool to a brave survivor, we are here to provide a “shelter” (Aashray) of hope and opportunity.
